The Wimbish House

The Wedding Day

The Wimbish House is a historic Atlanta landmark owned and operated by the Atlanta Woman’s Club. Proceeds from the venue help support the Club’s charitable programs and community initiatives. Originally commissioned by prominent Atlanta attorney William A. Wimbish as a residence for his family, the home was designed by renowned architect W. T. Downing. Known for his elegant and innovative designs, Downing was a favorite among Atlanta’s social elite and went on to create several of the city’s most notable buildings, including the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Trinity United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Lupton Hall at Oglethorpe University. Today, the Wimbish House remains a beautiful example of Atlanta’s rich architectural heritage and provides a timeless setting for special celebrations.

Our Story

Geena and Tom met on December 9, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. Tom was wrapping up a trip to the United States before returning home to Australia, while Geena was out with friends when she struck up a conversation by complimenting his festive sweater adorned with dogs. Neither knew it at the time, but that chance encounter would change both of their lives. Despite living nearly 9,000 miles apart, they built their relationship through frequent visits, countless FaceTimes, and a shared belief that some connections are worth crossing oceans for. Two years later, on Christmas Day 2025, Tom proposed while Geena was visiting Australia. Surrounded by the joy of the holiday season and the country that had become a second home to her, she happily said yes. Now, they're excited to celebrate their love story with the people who helped make it possible.
