Geena and Tom met on December 9, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. Tom was wrapping up a trip to the United States before returning home to Australia, while Geena was out with friends when she struck up a conversation by complimenting his festive sweater adorned with dogs.

Neither knew it at the time, but that chance encounter would change both of their lives. Despite living nearly 9,000 miles apart, they built their relationship through frequent visits, countless FaceTimes, and a shared belief that some connections are worth crossing oceans for.

Two years later, on Christmas Day 2025, Tom proposed while Geena was visiting Australia. Surrounded by the joy of the holiday season and the country that had become a second home to her, she happily said yes.
